Abstract

In the first part of this work results of chemical analysis, in vivo and in vitro digestibilities, nitrogen and mineral balances are pointed out. The second part deals with nutriments production in rumen, and intensive fattening experiments performed with rations made of rice straw.

The general results were that rice straw with a convenient supplementation including nitrogen and mineral may represent in following rations from 30 to 70 p. 100 of total necessary energy and so produce weigh gains of 400 g to 800 g a day. The economical results of these researches are emphasized.
