Abstract

The general observation from these feeding trials is that rice straw rations were readily consumed by cattle, with cubes being significantly more acceptable than chopped material. However, the low digestibility of the rice straw, even when supplemented with protein and minerals, delegates it to the role of a maintenance feed unless substantial sources of digestible energy are included in the ration.
